A bulldozer is a heavy piece of earthmoving equipment. It uses a front-mounted dozer blade to push soil forward and create a level surface for construction sites. A modern bulldozer is composed of a tracked chassis, protective driver cage, rear-mounted ripper claw and a variety of front-mounted blades. Some militaries even add armor plating to a standard bulldozer for more protection. Bulldozers are commonly used for road construction, water and electricity engineering, farmland leveling, port building, mining and other engineering conditions.
The tracks give them excellent ground hold and mobility through very rough terrain. Wide tracks help distribute the bulldozer's weight over a large area, which can prevent the bulldozer from sinking in sandy or muddy ground. Bulldozers have excellent ground hold and a torque divider designed to convert the engine's power into improved dragging ability. For example, the Caterpillar D9 can easily tow tanks weighing more than 70 tons. Due to these attributes, bulldozers are widely used to clear areas of obstacles, shrubbery, burnt vehicles, and remains of structures. The blade and the ripper are the primary tools of bulldozers.
The bulldozer blade is a heavy metal plate on the front of the tractor, which is used to push objects, and shove sand, soil and debris. There are usually three varieties of dozer blades:
A Straight Blade (S-Blade) is short and has no lateral curve, no side wings, and is used for fine grading.
A Universal Blade (U-Blade) is tall and very curved, and has large side wings to carry more material.
A S-U combination blade is shorter, has less curvature, and smaller side wings. It is typically used to push piles of large rocks, such as at a quarry.
The ripper is the long claw-like device on the back of the bulldozer. Rippers can come singly or in groups of two or more. Generally, a single shank is ideal for heavy ripping. The ripper shank is fitted with a replaceable tungsten steel alloy tip.
Ripping rock lets the ground surface rock be broken into small rubble for easy handling and transport. Agricultural ripping allows rocky or very hard earth to be broken up so otherwise unploughable land can be farmed. For example, much of the best land in the California wine country includes old lava flows. With heavy bulldozers the lava is shattered, allowing agriculture.
Winss Loader offers all kinds of tractor bulldozers for either normal earth-moving or mining purpose. Their engine power is from 80 hp to 410 hp with Komatsu technology or Caterpillar technology.
